26 May 2011 - Atlantic Data today received confirmation from the DBS that they were fully accredited to provide DBS Registered Bodies with a hosted e-Bulk solution for processing DBS applications electronically.
The announcement comes after the DBS halted the introduction of any further e-Bulk connections via third party hosted services. The initial action was taken by the DBS in January 2011 after it felt the previous accreditation model exposed the it to data security issues and risks that it was unable to manage. The new accreditation model has been developed in line with the Information Commissioner's advice and Data Protections Act.
Following an extensive and detailed audit process, Atlantic Data has now learnt that it is the first organisation to achieve such an accreditation from the DBS.
Managing Director, Mark Follett said of the announcement, "I'm delighted for the team here at Atlantic Data. Everyone has worked very hard to provide the DBS with the information necessary to meet the DBS's new IT security requirements.
Confirmation from the DBS gives us that third party endorsement of our system's inbuilt IT security measures (independently verified to ISO27001 standards), and UK hosting on the company's own in-house servers - thereby giving our customers peace of mind that their data is in safe hands."
